Hypnosis
Hypnosis is an art form that almost defies categories and types. There are many types of hypnosis as there are hypnotists. Each person that is hypnotized need a little bit different method. That makes the types of hypnosis difficult to define. On this discussion we will break it down into a couple of prominent types.
Three Types of Hypnosis
Traditional Hypnosis
This fits the old fashioned stereotype that most of the people have for stage hypnosis. In this type of hypnosis, everything is straightforward. It is mostly concerned with the trance induction. Once the person are hypnotized the hypnotist may test you with a few questions or suggestions and when the hypnotist is sure that the person is under he will have the person do whatever fits the agenda or the reason why the person were hypnotized. This works greatly to persons who believe in everything that the doctor tells them.
Ericksonian Hypnosis
This type of hypnosis together with NLP work far better to most people of today’s generation due to the reason that most of today’s people are tend to question everything rather that follow what they are told.
Hypnotists that use Ericksonian Hypnosis use little stories known as metaphors for them to present suggestions and ideas to the unconscious mind. The two types of metaphors are Isomorphic, which offer direction to the unconscious by telling a story that offers up a moral; and Embedded Command, which the hypnotist tells an interesting story that engages and distracts the conscious mind.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
This type uses the same thought patterns that are creating a problem.
